Terms of Service

These terms apply to the Aestus Live desktop application and to aestuslive.com ("Aestus Live", "the service"), developed and operated by me, Álvaro, an independent developer. By downloading or using Aestus Live you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What the service is

Aestus Live is a Windows application that removes the background from a live stream or video using your own computer, and shows the result on your screen. It is currently in beta: features may change, break, or be removed, and it may contain bugs.

2. Using the service

• You must be old enough to use Twitch and YouTube in your country, and comply with their terms when you use Aestus Live with them.
• Use Aestus Live only for lawful purposes and in line with the terms of the platforms you watch.
• Do not try to copy, reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the application, or use it to harm others or to interfere with the services of third parties.
• Respect the creators you watch. Aestus Live only changes how a stream is displayed on your own screen. It does not make streams available to anyone else, and it is not meant to record or redistribute content.

3. Third-party services

Aestus Live works with Twitch, YouTube, and other third-party platforms. These are not owned by me, and Aestus Live is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Twitch, Google, YouTube, or any streamer or VTuber. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, including the YouTube Terms of Service and the Twitch Terms of Service. All trademarks belong to their owners.

4. Your accounts and data

Connecting a Twitch or YouTube account is optional. How I handle that data is described in the Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time from the app's settings.

5. Free during beta

Aestus Live is provided free of charge during the beta. I may introduce paid features or plans in the future and will tell you before that happens. Nothing will be charged without your explicit agreement.

6. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. Performance depends on your hardware and on the third-party streams you watch.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a consumer under the law that applies to you, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

8. Suspension and changes

I may update, suspend, or discontinue the service, or these terms, at any time. When the terms change, I will update the date above. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new terms.
